Fan Types - Remote Ceiling Fans |
Remote controlled ceiling fans often provide significant benfits to their
owners. Using a remote control, a person can start the ceiling fan without
even getting up of moving acress the room. Moreover, the remote is also
protable and can be moved from one location to the other. This is especially
helpful if the on off button on the ceiling fan is out of reach or if teh
ceiling fan is placed in a very high location. If the remote control is lost,
however, most ceiling fans allow the owner to still turn it on and off using
the manual switches located on the ceiling fan.
Most remote controls come with several bare minimum features allowing the user
to turn the fan on and off so that they can stop it when they want to. Most
remote controls also have an option for the user to reduce the spped of the fan
in case it is too loud. They also often have a reverse direction feature to
allow a fan to switch directions and to change the flow of the air around the
room or dwelling.
Remote contols can control a lot of features on ceiling fans. Many ceiling
fans have a lot of other features besides the fan speed control. Some ceiling
fans come with lights on the bottom that provide lighting for a table or an
area of the room. These lights can usually be turned on off, or dimmed
depending on the user's preferences. The following chart summarizes some of
the ceiling fan features available:
Start fan --- Starts the fan
Stop fan --- Stops the fan's roation
Reduce speed --- Lower the speed of the fan to the next level
Increase speed --- Increases the fan speed to the next level
Direction change --- Changes the direction of the fan's rotation
Dim lights --- Dims the lights associated with the fan or on the fan
Lights on --- Turns the lights on
Lights off --- Turns the lights off
Temp controls --- Reduces the fan speed as the temperature drops
More advanced fan remote controls have features that allow the user to
adjust the speed of the fan based on factors like time or temperature.
The temperature adjustment features let the user adjust the speed of the
fan so that when it cools off at night, the fan rotates more slowly, while
when it becomes hot during the day, the fan speeds up to produce a flow of
more cool air.
